Asia for Two Months!

Tomorrow morning we leave for South Asia, where we will spend two and a half months, actually, implementing many of the free and low-cost travel resources that we discuss in the book. We are so excited, both for the chance to be on the road again, as well as so much time in Asia which we both love so much.

We will update this blog from our trip, keeping you informed on our adventures and the great travel resources that we find and use. Our first stop is Bangkok, where we arrive on Sunday and will spend the first 10 days. I’m sure there will be plenty of street eats, temple visits and cultural fascination to be had.

From there we venture on to Myanmar, a fascinating country with an incredible past and disturbing political climate. We certainly have no wish to support the government in place there, yet we do very much want to see inside this beautiful place and try to get a sense for what the people and the place are really like. Our journey continues to Cambodia & India; more to come!

Before we leave, I’d like to mention a few very exciting things that have been happening with How To Travel For Free (or pretty damn near it!). First of all, the book and some of its best free travel tips have been featured on several prominent travel websites, including Travel Writers Exchange (thanks Trish!) and World Footprints (thanks Tonya!). Check it out and let us know what you think.

Also, the book has been getting some great reviews, both directly to us and at Amazon.com. We always love to get more feedback, so please let us know if you have comments or a review for us.

So, bon voyage and the next time you hear from us will be from Thailand. We do not just write about the travel dream – we live it!

  1. Sandy Seale says:

So glad to hear the book is taking off so well & being referenced on other travel sites, etc. Also hoping the two of you have the most awesome time of your lives during your adventures around Asia. Be sure & tell “your kids” in India hello & I think of them all the time & hope they are doing well. You know I will be “traveling” with you even if only thru your pictures & blogs; I will definitely be with you in spirit. Be safe & have a wonderful time. Can’t wait til you’re home again so I can hear about everything in person.
